Our long term goal is to be the online platform of choice for all charity shops throughout the UK. A lot of unsold used items get sent to landfill and we want to reduce waste by helping to get these items sold and re-used.
Why should you join SGMART?
Having one platform known for sustainability can make it easier for customers to know that they are buying from a reputable source. Many times, people may not realise what is available in their local charity shops and it is often easier for them to find what they need online. By joining us, you can be part of the revolution to fighting waste from fast fashion and sell your items quicker.
Sometimes items stay in charity shops for a long time. There are often cases where some people are looking for a particular item and don’t know that it is available in a charity shop. Walking through shop after shop can be a fun activity, but a long difficult task for people who are short on time. Transitioning to having your shop online can make it easier for customers to find you and for you to sell more items at a quicker pace.
Support
Our team are here to support you with helpful advice about how to get started. For example, we recommend having someone on your team who is computer savy and can upload the images to our website and get your online charity business going. Although we are not yet partnered with Oxfam, we found this great example of how to promote an available position for volunteers to do online work for a charity shop. We can then guide the manager and volunteers on how to set up their own business on SGMart.

Charity Shop Trial
We are looking for more charities to form a partnership with. Trialing an online shop with a few items on SGMart is a great way to learn more about the website and how it can work for your shop. We will be meeting with our local charity shops (in Lincoln, Lincolnshire initially) to discuss getting them onboard. If you would like to speak to one of our representatives, please contact us and we can arrange for an initial phone call and meeting either online or in person depending on your location.
